K-ON! is an animation which cute girsl form a band and play music as their club activity,
this video was funny because of the gap between the cute girls and the hard core music this video makes them play.
3rd place is "Dial connected-Tsuki Dokei -Lunar Dial- Touhou PV-"

4 days have passed since Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga had been released, and on the fourth day this video was uploaded- Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga using Mario Sequencer!

It has more than 266,000 views but only has 3 comments... people probably wanted to watch the screen for this amazing work rather than writing comments on top of it :)

Shimo-san[ja] has done it again!!
Shimo-san is the creator of NicoNicoDouga famous medleys (there's 4 so far) and the new medley- "Nanairo no NicoNicoDouga (Seven color- or should I say Rainbow color- NicoNicoDouga) was released, and within just 2 days, the video has already gained 393,615 views. (It had gained 100,000 views within 13 hours).
Shimo-san's medley had always been energy for the NicoNico creators, and this video was not an exception. The original was uploaded at 6/3 AM7, and within a couple of hours, various remix videos were uploaded to NicoNicoDouga and this movement is still continuing.
Within several hours (the earliest probably was like 5 hours), people went through the videos and gathered the visual materials to remix with the medley music and uploaded them. The image selection (there are so many versions and MADs in NicoNicoDouga and you want to select the most interesting/funny/beautiful ones!) and editing technique etc differs from person to person and that is one of the interesting parts...
This is a funnier version
I think this one is going to be the best of all the videos trying to mix clips from the original videos (although it is still half way through). The tricky part is that for certain animations like Macross, Evangelion etc, if you use the "real" original videos, your videos will be deleted as you are infringing the copyright. So people use various techniques (such as draw the picture with comments, use parody version etc) to avoid being deleted.
Some people sang the songs and uploaded the videos, some wrote the lyrics and made a Karaoke version.
JimuinG-san, who once promised Shimo-san that he'd upload his piano version of the next medley of Shimo-san within 24 hours kept his promise. I can't believe he did this in just 24 hours... (I recommend you turn off the comments for this video, there are lots of comments that has nothing to do with the video or music)
